Hydronic vs electric — the honest comparison
For larger heated areas, hydronic systems are often worth comparing, because one boiler can serve a substantial snow-melt load. Electric systems can be simpler for smaller zones such as steps and short walkways. We compare the project size, available utilities, installation cost and expected use before recommending either approach — and for a small set of steps, we’ll say so rather than oversell a full hydronic system.
